QIIB participates in the Nationals Sports Day events

Dr Aal-Shaibei: The advancement of sports in our country is part of the overall boom we are witnessing in all fields

QIIB participated in this year's National Sports Day events as part of the Bank’s keenness to engage in all events that add value to nation building and community activities.

The bank’s participation in the National Sports Day events carries the message of progress and positive spirit that Qatar seeks to convey at various regional and international levels.

A large number of QIIB executives and employees led by Chief Executive Officer Dr Abdulbasit Ahmad al-Shaibei participated in a sports event and walked along the Doha Corniche, a very popular destination for sport activities, regularly conducted by citizens and residents alike.

Commenting on QIIB’s participation in the National Sports Day events, Dr al-Shaibei said, "Every year, we participate in the National Sports’ Day events as we are keen to draw inspiration from the noble values of sports such as interaction, cooperation, effort, determination, will, strength and victory”.

He said, “The advancement of sports in our country is no longer a subtitle to an important task. It has become the main headline, a focal point, and a vital part of the overall boom, which we are witnessing in all fields and forums under the guidance, leadership and vision of His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al- Thani.”

He noted “What Qatar has achieved in individual or team sport events, the 2019 Asian Cup football victory being the latest one, reflects the soundness of our rational leadership’s mindset and vision and the great success achieved in the implementation of Qatar’s ambitious plans, namely the Qatar National Vision 2030."

"QIIB’s participation in the National Sports Day is not a one off engagement, as we are keen to consolidate and strengthen the values and principles that sports represent in our banking institution and its role in our bank, one that serves the community to extent possible”.

The CEO noted that: “We call upon everyone to engage in sports for its benefits on the individual in particular and the society in general. Our participation today in the National Sports Day events is a call for everyone to adopt sports as a daily lifestyle, not an annual event. Sports boost physical and mental health. It also promotes a universal message of equality and cooperation between nations and people”.

Dr. Al-Shaibei highlighted, “QIIB is ready to contribute to the financing of sports projects as these have long-term benefits and remarkable returns, both at the economic and community levels. Our view of the community returns is far more important than our view of the material profits for their importance and positive impact on the society”.

The QIIB CEO concluded his statement by affirming that: “This year’s National Sports Day coincide with the Al-Annabi’s historical and well deserved victory in the Asian Cup, which truly bears the meanings of excellence, creativity and ability to translate plans into actions, prepare well for the future, achieve ambitions and overcome obstacles, no matter how difficult they are. Where there is a vision, effort, patience, hard work and planning, there is success at the end of the road as a logical outcome."
